Never to walk again?

In August 2007 Jamie was paralyzed from the neck down as a result of a diving accident. Doctors told him that he would never walk again. But God….

Jamie’s recovery has been nothing short of a miracle. His 5 month healing story was documented, logged and put together in a short but moving montage. Set to the song “All I have” you catch the desperate cry of Jamie and of all humanity towards the things that are so far beyond our power to solve. His story gives us hope in the places in our life where we think we will never walk again.

We know that in Jesus the Kingdom of God touched down on earth and established a beachhead. We too were stunned as Jesus read from the scroll of the prophet Isaiah in Luke 4 and than sat down, with every eye in the room upon him, and declared “Today these things are fulfilled in the hearing”. We see that generations of prophetic hopes were realized in that moment. We see that through his life and death, expressions of the fullness of God would bring a foretaste of eternity….pardon to prisoners, freedom from sickness and bondage, sight to the blind, etc . Jamie’s story is a taste of the fullness of Kingdom of God…. and a foretaste of what we all long for…. no more sorrow, no more pain.

Jamie shared his story at the Vineyard Anaheim in February 2008, where he is a pastor. The montage above ends with Jamie and his son side by side…. running!

Lyrics to “All I have”

What have I in this life
But the love in Your eyes
This empty world will one day fade
Only Your truth will remain

Jesus, all I have is You
You’re the hope I’m holding to
I might weep but still my faith
Rests in You
As the heavens hold the skies
It’s Your hand that holds my life
And Your love will lead me on
When all else is gone

One Response to “Never to walk again?”

  1. I have heard rumours of this kind of Kingdom…met people who speak of such a Kingdom…read books depicting this kind of Kingdom…I have personally experienced this kind of Kingdom…got to play in this kind of Kingdom…even briefly seen this kind of Kingdom…

…But still I’m left longing for this kind of Kingdom…desiring to see more of this kind of Kingdom in my life and the lives around me…
